FOOD! GLORIOUS FOOD!

FOOD! GLORIOUS FOOD!
The difficulty with my struggle to loose weight is the relationship I have with food. I have this internal conflict when it comes to changing my habits with my diet (it’s like breaking up with something that you love, but can’t survive without.) If I could manage to change the relationship with food into a relationship with exercise, or something like it, then I would be able to reach my goal much easier. The hardest part about this whole project is me being able to change my relationship with food. I suspect this is the most common dilemma among people who are going through a similar situation.

A REALY hot ride!!

Our 14 mile ride was on June 29th, and boy was it hot! We rode our bikes from the fairgrounds in Puyallup through Sumner and back to Puyallup. (Pictured) It was gruelling to ride in the heat, and by the end we were ready to hit some cool water. I am proud, however, that we did it and didn't ditch it because of the heat. I felt really tired at the end, and really wanted to go get a milkshake, or a big juicy burger, but I resisted and it is paying off. I am down 10 pounds from when I started this project! Thanks to all of you who have commented on my blog, I really appreciate it!

We're Going on a Tour...

...The Tour de Pierce that is. My family and I are joining the Pierce County Parks and Recreations Tour de Pierce bike ride this Sunday.

I encourage anyone interested to come along!

It is a 12, 30, or 50 mile ride (your choice) around Pierce county. You can register at the event for $12.oo per person or $30.00 per family of 4. It starts at the Puyallup Fair Gold Gate at 8:00 on the 29th of June.

This is just one addition to my exercise regimen which also is a fun activity to do with the family (pictured ). Keep watching for updates on the other activities I will add to make this project exciting for all!

Below are my before photos. Standing in the tan corner, weighing in at 271.5 pounds. Keep your eyes on this blogsite, because you will see me steadily shrinking throughout the next eight weeks!

Before photos...

I realize that this is very cliche, but to add to my project it is a tradition to have before photos.

"I'm the guy that's wearing the t-shirt at the beach... "

Losing weight is difficult when you love to eat. It is a struggle when you love to eat, but you also love to feel well, and love to be fit. I have a bunch of chubbs that I need to loose. It's interesting because I was discussing with a friend of mine how I'm comfortable with being chubby, but at the same time I'm not. I'm much less likely to flaunt my stuff at a public beach or whatever. So the question is...Am I really THAT comfortable with the chubb? I'm the guy that's wearing the t-shirt at the beach, and say I don't care, but really I do. The hard thing is that I remember being thin and trim and I remember what that feels like both physically and emotionally. I know in my heart and within my knowledge that I am meant to be thin and fit. It's part of my personality.
